JENNI OGDEN'S NEW NOVEL: PLEASE HELP LAUNCH IT!
July 24, 2020
Kia ora!
I hope you are coping with Covid-19 restrictions, and you and your family and friends have escaped it, or at least avoided getting a bad dose of it. In New Zealand we are lucky, so far, primarily thanks to good leadership, helped by 'our Team of 5 Million'—the buzz phrase for getting most of the population on board and staying there. So all one can do is keep one's fingers crossed and read another good book or watch more Netflix.
Publication of my new novel
I have been doing plenty of those things, but in addition I have been busy, busy, busy preparing for the launch on 25th August of The Moon is Missing. The e-book will be exclusive to Amazon for the first 90 days, but the paperback will be available from most online book sellers. The Audiobook will be released in late September-October, and available from most Audiobook sellers.
That's the book cover above; designed by the same fabulous cover artist who designed the cover for A Drop in the Ocean. The photo on the lower half of the cover is my own, and is of course of Great Barrier Island (where the story is partly set, along with London and New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.)
Free Copies of the Book
As an essential part of a successful book launch, it is important to have readers posting reviews on Amazon soon after the publication date. So I would be delighted if you would in the next four days if possible, putting 'ARC MOON' in the subject line, and I'll send you a secure Book Funnel link for an Advance Review/Reader Copy (ARC) of the e-book of The Moon is Missing. The e-mail will be sent from 'BookFunnel.' Your e-mail will never be shared or used for any other promotions without your permission.
After reading the book, please post an honest review on Amazon, preferably within a week of its launch date (25th August-1st September), but later of course if it takes a while to read it. A review doesn't have to be long; a couple of sentences to 100-150 words is fabulous. To post a review on Amazon you need to have purchased something from them (doesn't have to be a book).
You can add at the end of your review that you received an Advance Reader Copy and your review is your honest opinion. (If you have kindly also bought a copy of the e-book or paperback, then that makes it a 'Verified Purchase' so no need to add a note to your review about receiving an ARC. Amazon gives priority to reviews for verified purchases! )
Note: You don't need a Kindle e-Reader to read a Kindle book; you can download the Kindle app to many other devices and read on those. The link you will receive allows you to download it for your preferred e-reader, but please review it as a priority on Amazon. I would love you to post your review on Goodreads too (any time from now; they accept pre-publication reviews).
Of course if you also post your review elsewhere, where-ever the paperback is sold, extra hugs!
Before you leap at the chance of an ARC, find the book on your local Amazon site, and decide if it sounds like a tale you might enjoy! If you start reading and can't get into it, ditch it and forget the review! Life is too short to read books that bore you.
